Those Who OC Should be Shot

Keep in mind that it was posted in Kalifornia by a blooger that got it from a private account. Just because the man is a LEO, he can't post an opinion as a joke or otherwise ?

I agree Bill but it made the news. And, what if I posted a facebook comment as a joke about something sinister...I can think of several statements that could be posted as jokes openly that would elicit several visits from federal agents.

This "cop" is an ass. Typical jerkball who likes the current set up. He is the only one who is "trained" enough to have a firearm.......lol give me a break. Its these types of cops who usually end up doing something really stupid, and really criminal, because they think they are "entitled". There was a local yokel around here who acted like this. Allow me to pose a question that is in the same vein as the comment by the detective. If someone posted a comment on one of the sites, Facebook or whatever and said "Detective ---- should be shot!", or "Senator----- (or insert any public figure's name here) should be shot!", would you think of it differently? Or what would be the odds of getting a visit from the SS or some other government agency? What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If WE can't do it, then neither should someone else who just happens to carry a badge. I have carried a badge on more than one occasion and I NEVER considered myself better than anyone else or better than anyone else. That detective is just an idiot who happens to carry a badge!

I agree. In fact thats almost exactly what I said. It really doesn't matter where someone posts such a stupid remark as this cop did, if its on the internet, its NOT a private conversation. Once in the PUBLIC realm, its PUBLIC. Ask a cop.

I don't disagree with either one of you. I just don't try to make broad statements that will encompass everyone. For myself my badge did not give me super power's or make me better then anyone else nor would I make a statement like this Det. did.

I accept that Bill, I will go back and read my post, but I don't think I blanketed all cops with what I said, however if It came out that way it was unintentional, having said that though I do know , and have known detectives and patrol officers who have made a career , and a lucrative one from being able to "bend" the law when it was opportune to do so. I take you at your word that you were different in that respect. I have also known many men and women in the field who just put the uniform on to do their best for their communities regardless of the pay or glory.

BUT, if I was stopped alongside the road in the middle of the night, I would certainly feel more comfortable is I saw a cop stopping than a gangsta! I think the odds of a favorable outcome would be far greater!

SgtBill anyone who chooses a forum name like Gangsta has to be expected to act like a mouthy ass. Normally I stay out of the name calling biz but this guy is an idiot. I have three family members who were police officers and they would all agree no department is perfect but then again no large group of people is perfect. However a vast majority of police do a great job of protecting the community. They work in a dangerous, thankless job and have to deal with real Gangsta's not internet wannabe's.
