It's nothing new these days to see someone whip out the race card as a last resort to their losing argument. This tactic has been played with great precision by the mainstream media as well. Just read this article from the Virginian-Pilot on the repeal of the one-gun-a-month bill.
The AP's Bob Lewis slyly insinuates that the proponents of this repeal are not concerned with the fact that today's instant criminal background checks make the ban unnecessary, but that it was signed into law by Virginia's first black Governor.
So as anti's see their useless ban slip away, all that's left is to cry...

It's not just the news media! I personally witnessed a senator of the commonwealth liken the Virginia Healthcare Freedom Act to Brown vs. Board of Education in a committee hearing. No kidding!OakRidgeStars wrote:It's nothing new these days to see someone whip out the race card as a last resort to their losing argument. Some interesting comments there - as always. And they call us nuts. Some of the antis sound like downright dangerous mental cases. They should be locked away...

Re: The card that trumps all others
This is nothing new, the race card was developed to do exactly what it is doing. The big difference is now it has been perfected. I often wonder what happened to the guy who actually deserved to go to college when an affirmative action applicant came along and took that opportunity away from him, not by merit but by proclamation. Truth is , a mind IS a terrible thing to waste, but let a collective of WHITE college funds tell you that, and that would be racist........(I probably shouldn't even bring this up during Black History Month....
)
as far as I am concerned, they can PLAY the race card whenever they want to, but I will always CALL.....
.....oh and I refuse, as always to use any kind of qualifier......

Like the unions, affirmative action - IMO - was a good thing in the beginning but it has long since outlived its usefulness...they both need to go away for good. AA does nothing but put a spotlight on this whole issue and make it worse. Kinda like a kid that keeps picking the scab off a scraped knee...only now it has turned into impetigo...
Its funny these MSM outlets play the race card...90% of them are...white.

Back in the day when I was 22, I applied for a deputy job in Hanover county. My Dad and the sheriff were friends but when it came down time to hire the sheriff HAD to hire a black person.

The only good thing Wilder ever did was leave office.He was an outright ineffective governor that should never have been elected in the first place.
