Bumping this topic to get it back into the discussion area. I'll be adding this event to the next newsletter that I send out either later this evening or tomorrow.

Re: Sharpshooters (NOVA) Shoot and Greet - 15 Feb
Thanks Rick. I'm hoping the snow lets us all gather. With my recent trip to Alabama and all the snow I havent had much range time in the last few weeks. Plus I think some folks I havent met will show up...
Btw, I will be bringing extra guns and ammo if anyone wants to try something different...If I can lug it from the truck I plan to bring a bag filled with: Colt Commander .45, Beretta 9mm, Baby Eagle .45, Bersa Thunder .380, a tricked out Ruger 10/22, and ammo for each one...

Hey fellas,
Do I need to get there early to take a written range test? The other ranges I've been to require this.
Thanks,
Burns

No range test is required. You will need to read a short blurb on range safety and sign a range card. Thats about it...hope to see you there...

I'm going to try to get out there, depending on the weather of course. I've got a bunch of old guns, see the arsenal list, if anyone wants to make any requests, feel free to make a request; I have ammo for most of them.

I've already put in vacation time for that day, so I'll be there. I'll be coming up I-95 from Fredericksburg at around 9am-ish. Does anyone need a ride? I have room for 3 or 4 people.

FYI with the limited parking that is sure to be there because of the snow, make sure you park either on the Sharpshooters side of the lot, or beyond Sharpshooter's building. There are a few churches in the complex, and not knowing their schedules, could block folks in. Its happened to a few of my students before.

Ok folks, time to pony up. For planning purposes we need to know how many intend to show up.
PLEASE SOUND OFF IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING.
Also, we need a recommendation for a gun friendly place if we're going to eat after.
ANY IDEAS PLEASE POST THEM UP.
[screeeeech...that is all]

I'll be there!
Print this attachment out on a sticker - is very handy
I will have some with me and a sharpie marker if anyone feels like being called by name during the event instead of "Hey you with the Glock"

Im still unsure if I will be able to make it, im hoping to. The weather could be an issue now. If I do make it, any chance someone will be bringing a 3" or 4" barreled 1911, make and model is no issue. Im just trying to decide which size to go with for my carry gun.
Re: Sharpshooters (NOVA) Shoot and Greet - 15 Feb
I plan on going.(as I stated previously) I see on another forum that VA members of OpenCarry.org are meeting in Manassas for lunch around 1:00 (1300 for you military types)..I might try to make it a two-fer!

Re: Sharpshooters (NOVA) Shoot and Greet - 15 Feb
hmm... I just posted at OCDO inviting them all to SharpShooters. Thanks for putting us out there Tom!
I would like a two-fer as well if it looks like it can work out that way.
Is anyone else planning to go to either event (Especially THIS one)? Sure would like to hear a couple of folks roger up!

Re: Sharpshooters (NOVA) Shoot and Greet - 15 Feb
I went out there today, got there by about 10:15 or so walked up to the counter and got turned away because they're insurance doesn't allow for anyone to obtain a range card under the age of 21 without a parent present at least the first time....I did not know this, I figured that because I could legally OWN my gun I would be allowed to use it at a range but that's insurance companies for you. Anyways I'll be meeting up with you guys at Foster's in Manassas at around 1 seeing as how it's only 15-20 minutes from my house.
