Submitting Online Forms and Lost Data

Post by allingeneral »

So, I just read an anti-gun article and spent about 10 minutes writing out a response to the article. I read and re-read, checked punctuation, etc and then clicked the "Submit" button.

The site came back to let me know "You did not enter the CAPTCHA phrase, please click the "Back" button and tr again".

So, I clicked the Back button and lo and behold... everything was BLANK! Oh, man that upsets me a little bit.

I did find a Firefox plugin call "Lazarus" which is supposed to cache form data in an effort to prevent these things from happening - but it didn't help me in this case, since I installed it after the form data was lost.

Here's a link to the FIrefox plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6984

I did a reply to the Virginia Pilot article on guns in bars. I had a long detailed response and they cut half of it off when they posted it.

I always copy past before I post long posts, it's habit from frustration just like yours.
