------
Gun control shot to the forefront of the fourth Democratic gubernatorial debate Thursday less than a mile from the deadliest campus shooting in American history.
State Sen. R Creigh Deeds, former Democratic national chairman Terry McAuliffe and former House of Delegates Democratic Caucus leader Brian Moran all agreed on closing the loophole in state law that exempts gun shows from background checks on firearms buyers.
In Blacksburg, home of Virginia Tech, Moran said every gun buyer should have to face the same vetting that federally licensed gun dealers must perform regardless of venue. McAuliffe agreed.
Then, he noted that Deeds had voted to override Democratic Gov. Tim Kaine's veto of a bill that would have allowed people to carry concealed guns in bars.
------
Please make note to the wording of the second paragraph:
"loophole in state law that exempts gun shows from background checks on firearms buyers"
This indicates to the average American, who does not understand the laws, that anyone can walk into a gun show and buy anything they want without submitting to a background check, which we all know to be completely untrue. I posted a comment on their website outlining the difference between a sale from a dealer and a personal transfer/sale. We'll see if the comment makes it through their liberal moderation process.

I made a post there myself noteing there is no damn loophole ,,and added my .02 about Kaine thinking it OK for cops and untrained attorneys to drink in bars but not trained civilains.....I think we should all ask them to at least report the truth and nail em everytime they try to mislead the public with their ignorance

It would be nice if we could to that, but there's too much ignorance out there for us to keep up with! We would be posting all day and all night trying to keep up!
Good comment you left there. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Gun Control Media Bias Exemplified
My Question is this why did they bring VT into the mix lets look at the facts.
1. Shooter was an immigrant having trouble fitting in.
2. Had mental issues.
3. Response time of Campus Security and the Ban of CCW on Campus.
4. I think that at least 30 of the shootings occured after Police arrived.
5. Like most other shooters once pressed by firepower the shooter takes his own life.
If someone or several someones had been able to carry on Campus this would of been over sooner and with less deaths.
sorry to open old wounds I hope all my facts are right going off my memory I still have Chemo brain. I'll be quiet now. (Gun free zones just get me angry)

Politicians know never to let any tragedy go to waste. They will find a way to co-op a shooting by a deranged madman into a vehicle to further their own agenda. Not only do the victim's families have to suffer the loss of a child, but now they are victimized again by politicians that pretend to care about what they are going through.SnakeEater wrote:My Question is this why did they bring VT into the mix...
We all know that the VT shooter bought his two 9mm handguns legally, at a local gun shop. But the anti-gun crowd will never stop trying to blame the shooting on an imaginary "gun show loophole". Why?, because we, the responsible gun owners of this country let them. For years, the anti-gun crowd has brought their message of hate, lies and misinformation to millions of living rooms via the liberal-biased media. This is why it is so important for us to be seen in our community as a safe, responsible gun owner. Every time we OC around the people in our community, we have the opportunity to educate one more citizen about how they can exercise their 2A rights. When they see that we're not a bunch of crazy, gun-toting, reckless, racist, rednecks, they will be less likely to believe the lies and hysteria from the media.
It's not going to be easy, but we can change the way we're perceived. One sane person at a time.
