Trigger pull on SA 1911

Post by viiiball »

I recently purchased a Springfield Armory Loaded 1911. I swear the trigger pulls feels like 100lbs. I have a Glock 21 and a SA XD all in .45 and have tried all 3 guns together. The 1911 seems to have a much harder trigger pull. Could it be break-in? Could it be that the 1911 has a different trigger style than the polymer guns? If it does have a harder trigger pull can it easily be worked on to be lighter? As you can tell I am a newbie when it comes to the parts and pieces of these machines.

Springfield's website says 5-6 lbs trigger pull for all Loaded variants with long aluminum match grade trigger. You might contact Springfield and ask about a trigger job. I think they'll work a trigger to 4lb for about $75. Here's their contact page. http://www.springfield-armory.com/contactus.php
