Re: Shooting at Hampton University
I was wondering what a 62 & a 43 year old would be doing hanging out at a college dorm at 1 a.m.? But it’s just another case of some punk going after a victim who in all probability won't be armed. The 43 year-old is a pizza delivery guy (wonder if it's Domino’s). The 62 year old is the dorm’s night manager.

I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for posting and welcome aboard!bullseye wrote:I was wondering what a 62 & a 43 year old would be doing hanging out at a college dorm at 1 a.m.?

A quote from the story: "The night monitor threw his arms up in self-defense and took one bullet to each of his arms and one to the leg, Harvey said."
Should read: "The night monitor drew his sidearm in self-defense and fired one bullet that incapacitated the threat."

What's also strange is that the dorm manager activated the fire alarm after seeing a man in the lobby with a gun. That would have prompted all of the residents in the dorm to leave their rooms and head out into the common area of the building. I find it hard to believe that this could be university policy, since the residents would have been much safer behind the locked doors of their rooms. My only guess is that he panicked.
Fortunately, no one lost their life in this incident. Even the shooter survived after he tried to kill himself
