God will provide for our needs. It may not be the form we want or expect but if we place our trust in Him He will provide. I have come to the point in my life especially considering the world situation that the only thing to do is prostate myself before Him and place my whole life in His hands. IMHO nothing else will work and I dont honestly want anything else. If I understand my Bible correctly things are beginning to wind down and if I hear the trumpet in my lifetime I do not want to be left behind.

In reference to a previous comment about "running out of time" (paraphrase).... according to my Bible, when asked about what would be the signs of his coming....earthquakes, wars and rumors of wars,pestilence etc, etc, but the end is not yet...Matthew 24, and continue..... I am not going to cut and paste it. Read the entire chapter. There are lots of people who think we are at the end, we are not. We are at the beginning. Some will tell you Jesus can come back any second, thats not what mathew 24 tells us. This chapter tells us to watch the signs, and be prepared.period. it also tells us that many will be decieved into thinking "here he is, there he is" etc. These are false teachings, that he warns about in this chapter. There are many intricate things that MUST take place first. I really dont want to get into it on this thread, but some people think that Christ will come back for them soon and leave the rest behind..... a very popular book series, and lucrative I might add, propagated this theory recently. I know this theory didn't begin with Tim LaHaye(sp)?) but I don't find any biblical truth to it nonetheless. My comment was , and is that we are not to be worried about what time it is, we are to be watchful, and recognize the signs that have been told to us. Thats all.

well with all due respect, it means a lot more than that. I personally have known people who got dressed up each week and at every "holiday" and went to church, and "acted" like perfect christians.....and saw people picking up tin cans on sunday and said " they are going to hell for working on sunday..etc"..to me those people are taking the name of the Lord in vain. I will drop it now so as to not offend some here, but if asked I will expound on my stance.

Rick pretty much nailed it and didnt say anything about going to church. Salvation and trusting in God and making His word part of your daily life -- living it is about all we can do as Christians. At least I think so. Salvation, trust, living the word. What else is there.

Saying someone is "going to Hell" is not taking the Lord's name in vain. It is a statement of fact concerning anyone who refuses to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. There are references in the Old Testament in Daniel that has reference to the end times as well as multiple references in the New Testament. It speaks of wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes in divers places and much more. It gives signs of the approaching apocalypse that will engulf the entire world. Those who refuse to believe will not prevent these events, they will just miss out on the method to avoid it. I do not understand the mechanics of what or how it will happen, but that will not keep it from happening either. I don't know how my computer works either, but that doesn't keep it from working!

As for someone being a Christian based on attending church regularly, it will no more make someone a Christian than sleeping in a garage will make you a car! However, the Bible tells us to "foresake not the assembling of ourselves together", which tells us we should come together in fellowship and worship. It does not save you, it is not what changes you....but if you are a Christian you will WANT to be with like minded people.

well ok, this is exactly what I was tryting to avoid. Bill, wild or otherwise, you have a reading comprehension problem. re-read my post,what I meant to say, was that those people who were all dressed up and on their way to church , who judged the poorer person picking up tin cans for money on a sunday(presumably the sabbath to some )who said those people were going to hell for working on sunday.... those judgemental fools were the ones taking the Lord's name in vain. I agree "saying someone is going to hell" is not taking the name of the Lord in vain. I say there are lots of people who consider themselves christians who are further from christ-like , then Osama bin ladin is . Those are some people who take the name of the Lord in vain. I can't possibly make that any less complicated.

I couldn't agree with you more bill, in fact I'll go a step further, if someone is going to a church that is 180 degrees to the opposite of what Christ preached, it makes that person an anti-christian.....or just plain decieved...... you choose.
