Obammie the liar is speaking now about the cost cutting healthcare bill his minioons will vote on in secret probably on christmas eve. Well he is phrasing it a little differently. One thing he did say "business as usual in Washington will no longer be tolerated" obviously he is either,
A: a liar
or B; an ignorant buffoon.
either way we the people will suffer the consequences of this moron's agenda.

They (congress) have shown nothing but contempt so far for the wishes of the American public. I think the time exhausted by trying to persuade them by writing campaigns is a waste. I am thinking that actions speak louder than words.........

Most polls show that overall the public is in favor of medical reform. Although how anyone can form an opinion with so much dis-information out there is anyone's guess. Most of the ads I hear on the radio are outright fear mongering.GS78 wrote:They (congress) have shown nothing but contempt so far for the wishes of the American public.
The chances of 100 senators being able to agree to the bill is zero. Even within the 60 dems, there ended up being huge changes to suit individuals. The dem from NV ended up forcing changes that effect the entire country. Would 60 Rep have been able to do any better? Lets not get into spending as a point against the bill, the republicans are just as bad as the dems when it comes to the size of the government and spending. Also, most of these senators obtain massive contributions from health care sector.
Even if a republican agreed with the bill and liked it, they would never vote for it. It would be akin to them putting a bullet in their head. The republicans believe that public opinion is with them and so an en-mass vote against it will increase their chances in the 2010 elections. Politicians would rather kill something good and end up with nothing if it meant them getting re-elected. There is no way they would support Obama even if it was the best possible bill.
How do you judge the wishes of the American public? Remember all those town hall meetings? All we saw on the news were a few people at each event shouting and screaming. That is what made news. Each time I saw an interview with those people later, they really had nothing to say except they were against it because of socialism or something..
The reporting around the medical issue just plain annoys me. When they interview people who are against it, I want to know if they themselves have health insurance. How much does it cost?, how good is the coverage? what is their opinion on people who do not have medical insurance because they were denied due to a pre-existing condition?
The bill is written in such a way that few people can comprehend it.. which is why it is so easy to make stuff up and spread mis-information. I've lost track of what the current bill that will be voted on actually says and I don't think many people do at this point.
When I have heard people state they oppose it, I have rarely heard what they would consider to be an acceptable bill in its place.

I'd be inclined to agree with you on that but nobody but reid and his pitiful little band of cronies have seen it. Thats part of the problem. We dont even know said bill even exists as a written bill.bzybee08 wrote:The bill is written in such a way that few people can comprehend it.. which is why it is so easy to make stuff up and spread mis-information. Remember the Patriot Act.. 1000 pages, printed at 4am, given to senators at 9am and voted on about 30 minutes later. I would have thought the 'average' American would have been 10 times more upset with what was in the Patriot Act than the health care bill. The stimulus bill was similar.zephyp wrote:I'd be inclined to agree with you on that but nobody but reid and his pitiful little band of cronies have seen it. Thats part of the problem. Bottom line is that most of them are a bunch of crooks and each time I see them celebrating over the passage of these bills I want to puke.

Yes the Patriot Act was far out from the Constitution. Created and passed by republicans and now resting safely in the hands of the current administration who no has undoubtedly labeled folk like us as extremists, terrorists, and just plain old rabble rousers.
