Are pro gun sites repressive

Post by loveguns22 »

Are pro gun sites dictatorial and repressive? I told one gun forum that gun control doesn’t make a country bad and the country may overall be very safe. They then threw me out. Seriously the pro gun forums don’t respect free speech.

Just for asking that.

One member even gently told me he understood that it was still very safe. The others threw me out. They cannot stand the mere thought that a country with gun control even with slightly higher crime may still overall be very safe.

Pro gun Sites are tyrannical. Just the mere mention of gun control, there are several types of gun control but no saying you support gun control even supporting certain policies will turn pro gun people against people against you. Pro gun sites can be a very unsafe environment with no free speech. What happened to friendly people?

Wow... lots to unpack that I won't touch. I can't speak for everyone and have no idea what your conversation/situation is/was.

The phase "gun control" means different things to different people. Anecdotally, people I know don't have problems with living in a Nation of Law, keeping weapons out of the hands of known criminals. However, also anecdotal, many people I know don't believe in punishing or restricting 320,000,000 law abiding people because ~3,000 people a year do something stupid. The government saying that based on the grounds that you simply existing makes you untrustworthy is a bunch of crap, and the underlying fundamental concept of "gun control" as we know it.

My recommendation is, if you believe in Rights and Freedoms for people who are known to be responsible, while prohibiting criminals from having access to tools that make it easier for them to do evil, then you should explain your position as such. If you believe in restricting everyone, no matter what, I would also say that. However, if you go with the latter, I would not be surprised if its not well received by Pro 2A groups.
