Safe Dealers in Northern VA?

Post by MattS »

Wondering if I can daylight some safe dealers in Northern VA that would deliver to Loudoun. Specifically looking for American made products like Liberty. So far I've found all of 1: the Baldinos chain of locksmiths. Other than that, I've found the big box stores that sell Chinese stuff.

There has go to be some more competition out there right? Plenty of gun owners around here, and plenty of people with nice things that could benefit from a quality safe. Are they just too old school to bother having a website?

Clark Bros will deliver safes. Doesn't Dicks Sporting goods also carry Liberty?

Looks like Dicks website only has one Liberty model, a big one. I don't have the space for one of those large ones at the moment, so I was looking at an 18" model. Not many choices outside of Liberty it seems. Probably check out Clark Bros.

Safe Dealers in Northern VA?

Tractor supply has safes. Not sure if they deliver though. Gander mountain carries safes as well. Also, look up locksmiths and security companies in the area. I know some of these guys carry safes.
I had a SCAR 17 and 16. I also had a bunch of Glocks and a couple H&K pistols. Oh and a DDM4, but I sold everything when our government told me these dangerous tools can actually hurt someone. Apparently they grow legs and go on killing sprees.

Thanks for the input gents.

Fiddler - Are Superior safes made in America? I actually found the Thompson site last night when looking at Graffunder safes (probably out of my price range), and saw they also sell Superior Safes. Usually these guys don't make it so hard to find out it is made in the US, which often means it isn't. But if they deliver to Fairfax, should should deliver to me.

nope, not much. very few gun owners have large safes. When they do buy them, they buy on price. Therefore the big box stores, and china made tend to dominate the business.

Do some homework, on what the $1500 and under safe market has to offer, and you will be terrified at how little protection they really offer.

hit up youtube, and spend an hour.

After that decide If you are willing to spend $2500 + and deal with a 1500-3000 lb safe, then you can get some reasonably good burglary/fire protection.

Seriously, call Steve at Steve's services. Very knowledgeable about the safe industry. He may have a used safe or two that might suit your needs. I should mention that I have no business interest even though we share the same awesome first name. He usually has a set up at the nations gun shows.

Have you looked into Costco? Or Amazon? I think they both deliver for free.

The proper way to move a safe by your lonesome. Get a good hand cart and a low height floor jack. 2 pcs card board for the jack and towel over that. Lift the door off the safe with the jack and put it on the hand cart. Ratchet strap it to the cart. That's about half the weight of the safe. Move it towards where it has to go. Tilt safe and put on the hand cart and move it to where it has to go.
Put safe door on in the reverse procedure. Putting it on usually takes two as the hinges for the door have little to no tolerance.
