Gun laws discussion

Post by wittmeba »

Here is an article I obtained from the VCDL Alerts, I believe. Lots of good comments, emotions and as usual the same old lies we have grown to live with.

A Concealed Weapon Permit is nothing more than a permit to allow a LAC to wear a jacket.

I've often wondered how often guns are found at crime scenes and then, if one were to be found, how tracing them backwards could help solve that crime. Any ideas?

Aren't gun sales records supposed to be disposed of after a set period of time?

ATF forms must be retained for not less than 20 years. If the FFL retires, the records go to ATF.

Freshly bought guns used in a crime are often straw purchases. This generally gets the straw buyer to roll on the user of the guns other, potentially more major crimes.

WRW I have wondered too. Same about serialized guns, empty cases, gun ownership, etc. What good is all this info if they need to know who pulled the trigger in a crime?
