Federal charges again Cliven Bundy for failing to pay decades of cattle grazing fees and violating land use restrictions have been dismissed by the US District Court due to mistrial. The charges of conspiracy because the ranchers summoned militia and having a stand-off with BLM have been dropped as well.
It seems as though an internal whistle blower at BLM, who just happens to be the BLM chief investigator, informed the federal courts and Cliven Bundy's defense team that not only did BLM intentionally provoke a conflict with the Bundy family by setting up hidden surveillance on the Bundy ranch as well as having snipers surround his property before the militia arrived, but also destroyed and withheld thousands of pages of evidences that SUPPORTS Mr. Bundy's innocence.
Also...BLM chose "the most intrusive, oppressive, large scale and militaristic trespass cattle (seizure) possible'' against Bundy. He also cited a "widespread pattern of bad judgment, lack of discipline, incredible bias, unprofessionalism and misconduct, as well as likely policy, ethical and legal violations" by BLM officials in the case. BLM agents even "bragged about roughing up Dave Bundy, grinding his face into the ground and Dave Bundy having little bits of gravel stuck in his face'' while he was videotaping federal agents. Wooten also stated that anti-Mormon prejudice pervaded BLM's crackdown.
My favorite part of the BLM story is that the placement of the cameras on Bundy property was an accident and not intentionally aimed at surveilling the family. Sure... they just happened to accidentally setup surveillance on a family who lives in the middle of the desert... right. The feds also belatedly turned over multiple threat assessments which revealed that the Bundys were not violent or dangerous, including an FBI analysis that concluded that BLM was "trying to provoke a conflict" with the Bundys.
What I want to know is, who is going to prison for the MURDER of LaVoy Finicum. Mr. Finicum was killed for exercising his First Amendment Rights, protesting in support of Bundy.
