Not all of the northern transplants to the South are bringing unconstitutional views on firearms with them. My family and I recently relocated to Virginia from the northeast, and I am thrilled to now call myself a proud resident of a State that respects the Second Amendment. I've already joined the VCDL and gotten my concealed carry permit. Oh, and I've joined the local indoor range, which in my case is the NRA Range in Fairfax.
I'm relatively new to firearms, having started with them only in my 30s after I realized that, as a father, I needed to get serious about home defense. A few years later, I still consider myself a relative novice, although I've taken several NRA training courses and own a shotgun, AR-15, and several handguns. My challenge (up until my recent move to Virginia) is that my former state of residence (NJ) was so strict about transporting firearms that it made going to the range far more complicated than it should have been. But I'm looking forward to more range time and improving my skills.
Politically, I am determined to help VA hold onto its dearly won constitutional right to bear arms.
