The lawyer for Bergdahl has put in a request that Bergdahl receive the money that he would have been paid while he was being held. But there’s a major problem with that request.
.
In the past if an military member was considered a POW, they were allowed to advance in their ranking and also have the money they would have gotten be held for them, but the fly in the ointment for Bergdahl is, pled guilty and he admitted he walked off and deserted his military unit during a time of war, he wasn’t captured on the field of battle.
.
By the fact that he pled guilty and wasn’t a POW in the legal sense, he shouldn’t and doesn’t deserve to receive any money, because he made the choice to leave on his own volition, he wasn’t captured during battle.
Bergdahl wants to receive almost $300,000 back pay.

Here’s another question, how does the lawyer of a single unmarried private in the Army consider that he’s deserving of almost $300,000 for the five years he was in the hands of this Muslim group. There’s no way he would have made almost $60,000 a year as a private in the military.

He, and he alone, is responsible for his capture and the resulting years of imprisonment.
He did not follow his years of military training. He purposely chose a different path.
He is responsible for his pain/suffering. Not the American tax payers. We owe him nothing. The "military" judge has already given him a great gift (no prison time). He should just shut up and fade away.

We should give him two choices:
- stay in the USA and complete your service missed during your absense
- Send him back to the Taliban-aligned Haqqani network in Afghanistan and Pakistan

I'd like to see Bergdahl, and Manning turned over to ISIS, and see how they're handled. Just sayin'...

Bergdahl should have every bit of his assets seized and liquidated, and the proceeds go to those who were injured while trying to find him.
Then, Bergdahl should be hanged by the neck, until dead.
His lawyer should probably hang with him.
