A local liberal, trying to fan the flames for Northam, just posted the article below on several local FaceBook pages. Judging from the comments, some people are swallowing this stink-bait, hook, line and sinker.

The revisionist line is that “southerners like James Monroe, George Mason (who owned more than 300 slaves) and the southern Christian evangelical, Patrick Henry” insisted on the 2nd Amendment to insure they could maintain "slave patrols" and thereby prop up their oppressive "police states"

The strategy is obviously that if the Second Amendment was racially motivated, activist liberal judges and politicians can ignore it.

Fake news, fake morality, and now fake history.

I had dinner with a black couple, last night. Lovely people, great friends of mine (they were in my wedding). They were showing me their new pistols.

I get the distinct impression, that even if the 2nd Amendment DID have racist roots, they would not care, at all. At this point, it would be irrelevant.

So, then, my questions to the author, (using the lefty strategy) are, "Why do you want to disarm black people? Don't their lives matter? Why can't they defend themselves? Why do you hate them?" Then, I suppose, I could scream, "RACIST!!" at him.

I feel for law enforcement more than anyone else. They won't be able to make an arrest, interrogate a black, issue a citation for a violation without being labeled a racist...we are already at this point.
