Winding Brook Blue Ridge Arsenal

Post by Jon »

Finally went and checked out this fairly new range today and ended up getting a membership. I was hesitant after hearing about Marks experience at the one up north but first impressions for this location are good.

Friendly staff, nice modern set up with lanes/benches, attentive RSO, and a little better value overall than CSA. Plus, it's only about 20min from the house!

If you haven't checked it out yet I would suggest doing so.

I have thought about going there myself but I'm tired of indoor ranges and living in bumpass it's a drive for me to just shoot off a few rounds. I would much rather try and find some open land or woods around here and shoot outside and teach our daughter how to shoot her Rascal some more. Plus with it being right next to Bass Pro Shop I would probably spend more money every time that I want there. Lol

I hear ya. I'd much rather shoot outdoors and on my own property too, but right now that's just not possible. My misses and I are currently looking for our first house and being rural is a must. In the meantime I need to keep in shape. I like to try and shoot at least once a week and waiting for the couple of friends I know that do have land to shoot on is not nearly on pace with how often I want to shoot. If I relied solely on the couple of buds I know to shoot I'd probably shoot once a month if that.

If you don't have land and want to shoot when you want as long as you want, the indoor range is the best bet.

Hopefully once we get our house I'll be able to enjoy the freedom of shooting on my own property whenever I want.

Was it because they didn't pay the rent or that they were planning on selling it to another party, which then the landlord didn't like and put in default of the lease?

Charles.
