I don't know that I would be inclined to give much weight to that, though. They referenced surveying the youth. I remember such surveys, when I was a teenager. I was given them to fill out, on more than one occasion.
Oh, I filled them out, as I was told. However, I lied. I know that I'm not the only one who has ever done so, either; these things were discussed, later. They were administered at school, and I did not believe that they were anonymous, as they told me. So, according to the survey that I turned in, I was a perfect angel. I wasn't about to possibly and inadvertently rat myself out. And, most of my peers were of the same mindset.
I'd say that catching untethered teens at the mall would be a better method of obtaining input (especially if you offer them money to do it), but do teens hang out at malls, anymore? Or have the malls, that still exist, put and end to that?
