Petition: Open Machine Gun Registry

Post by MarcSpaz »

Guys, please sign this petition! Don't forget to check your email and click the confirmation link or your signature does NOT count.

This is to repeal the Hughes amendment of the Firearm Owners Protection Act, which closed the registry for privately owned machine guns. There was exactly 2 crimes committed with legally owned machine guns... ever. The Hughes amendment did NOTHING to prevent crime. All it did was infringe on our rights and drive the price of machine guns in the registry from a few hundred dollar to more expensive than many modern cars.

Done. I agree, it would be very nice to be able to purchase either a full auto, or a select fire built later than the 80's, and at an affordable price. The last select fire M-16 I looked at they wanted over $25,000.00 for, back in the mid 80's I could have bought that same rifle for less than a grand with the tax stamp.

I'm getting kind of bummed about this. 160,000,000 gun owners in the US and we can't get 100,000 signatures in 30 days? I had to be because people just don't know about it. I haven't talked to a gun owner yet that doesn't agree with this petition. What else could be holding people back?

Don't know. How many other gun forums has this been posted on?

Don't know. I put it up on 3 others that I belong to, plus FB and YT. Several Celeb YouTuber's have videos about it. The last video had over 70,000 views in 24 hours... but it just seems like people either don't care or think someone else will do it.
