S&W TRR8
S&W TRR8
Any experience with this pistol? Everything I've read, it looks like a killer. Might just be my first part time carry wheel-gun.

Looks pretty neat! Is that a 380?
Sorry... I couldn't resist.

Now that is a COMP gun if there ever was one!
Re: S&W TRR8
That just might supplant my desire for a 686 or 610!

Re: S&W TRR8
Started saving my pennies for it. Brand new, bare bones, it has an MSRP of $1329.00. I'd imagine with a decent scope, light and holster it'll start getting up near $2000.

WOW !!!
Re: S&W TRR8
Yeah, right? If I see something else between now and then that I "must have", I may just go for that.
S&W also makes the R8 model of that pistol. Not much difference at all between the R8 and TRR8 except about 0.6 ounces. Both have the MSRP of $1329.

Re: S&W TRR8
Confused me at first.
S&W's website lists it as a Mdl 327, and I though, at first, that it was chambered in .327 Federal!
Might be an interesting idea, actually. Since they have 8 rounds of .357, if they chambered it in .327 Federal, they might make it a 10-rounder!

I've shot a Taurus 608SS6 ....8 rds. 357 Mag. ....Less than $600 and is a Great Shooter. Very accurate and has a nice balance .

Re: S&W TRR8
It appears that the difference between the Taurus 608 and the S&W TRR8, is rails.
The TRR8 is cool, but not cool enough to justify the price, in my personal opinion. All I'd be inclined to use the rail for is a flashlight; that's a right hefty price tag, just for that.

Expensive and a bit large for concealed carry.

Meh; concealability has never been my concern, anyway.

Uh-oh! May have to check out the Taurus. The Taurus would make it's way into my safe a lot sooner than the S&W.Snakester wrote:I've shot a Taurus 608SS6 ....8 rds. 357 Mag. ....Less than $600 and is a Great Shooter. Very accurate and has a nice balance .

Tarus 608SS6 -- 6.5" barrel and 51 oz.
vs.
S&W TRR8 -- 5.0" barrel and 35.2 oz.
I guess that scandium frame sure costs you, but gets you quite a bit of weight savings.

Re: S&W TRR8
True enough, and the Taurus wouldn't be a carry piece at over 4 lbs and a 6 inch barrel. Just for fun.

From Websters 1913 Dictionary:
"Pistol, n. [F. pistole, pistolet, It. pistola; prob. from a form Pistola, for Pistoja, a town in Italy where pistols were first made. Cf. Pistole.]
The smallest firearm used, intended to be fired from one hand, -- now of many patterns, and bearing a great variety of names. See Illust. of Revolver.
<-- generically, also called handgun --> "
