I have received some emails indicating that some VCDL members think the
Salem Gun Show cancellation was in response to the Las Vegas massacre.

In fact, the Salem Gun Show was canceled on September 28th, several days
before the shooting in Las Vegas, and two other C&E gun shows (Winston
Salem, NC and Springfield, OH) on the same date have not been canceled.

Regardless, it would seem that some VCDL members still think that
law-abiding gun owners, especially VCDL and NRA members, somehow bear
responsibility for criminal violence committed with firearms by lunatics
and religious/political fanatics, and that we need to hide our heads in
shame when something like this happens!

With VCDL's emphasis on the notion that "Guns Save Lives", it is difficult
for me to understand how any VCDL member could have such thoughts rattling
around in their head, apparently ready to trot out whenever some criminal
commits violence with a firearm.

To all VCDL members, don't be hoodwinked by the biased and ignorant media
reports into thinking criminal violence with firearms is the fault of
law-abiding gun owners, VCDL or the NRA. The exact opposite is true!

I'm not sure how to be more clear about this except maybe to quote some
unnamed source who created a poster that reads something like:

In any massacre, the law abiding are violated twice:
First, the dead, by the psychos who killed them, and
Second, the living, by the politicians who try
to disarm them for the next psycho!
