Scrolling down past the first story, their is a follow-up story. Apparently postal workers have just been leaving keys in locked mailboxes.
Apathy and incompetence. It's absurd, what we have to put up with. Myself, I maintain a box at the UPS store. Even though I am not their frequently, when I show up, I am greeted by name, by people who, at the very least, act as if they are thrilled and delighted that I appeared on the premises. I don't even open my box, most of the time. They just go back and get my mail, and hand it to me. Nothing that I have ever asked of them has been inconvenient for them. They want to do it. In short, they seem to be keenly aware of the fact that their paycheck depends on me, and people like me, doing business with them. I haven't set foot in an actual US Post Office, in years. Why would I? UPS has friendly and competent service, even when they have lines out the door. I wonder if we can get them to start handling drivers licenses, vehicle registrations, etc.?
