I don't know why the image shows up sometimes and sometimes it does not. I wonder if its a MediaFire Hosting issue? Should be a pic of the stock and extender. Try this.................

The buffer tube is a fixed, specific length for proper auto-loading performance. You are not going to get a longer length of pull on an adjustable stock. You would need to switch to a fixed length stock. Even then, it will only be a little less than 2" longer and you pick up a lot of weight.

For what it's worth, the general ergonomics are for improved stability of the weapon and comfort providing for extended use, but the adjustments to length are not really intended to provide comfort to the shooter. The adjustable length of pull on a rifle is intended to help get the correct head placement and eye relief for your optics/sighting equipment.

Unless the collapsible stock is a poor design replacement stock, it has a fully extended length the same as a fixed stock rifle, which is roughly 10 1/2 inches from the buttplate to the rear of the lower receiver. That length will work with most folks and actually needs to be shorter for a lot of smaller people or when folks are wearing a protective vest.
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

Mine, including the pad, is 11.25 inches from the butt plate. I think I will just leave it as is for now. So far, I have only put 15 rounds through the gun over a year ago when I bought it, so I really don't know / remember how it will feel when I really start practicing....(soon).

Thanks guys

Do you put your nose on the charging handle when sighting it/firing it? You should. It's important to have your eye in the same spot behind the rear sight or even a rifle scope. Having your nose on the charging handle helps you get that consistency.

I ask because I'm 6' 3" tall and I thought I had long arms (not gorilla arms, but long arms) and on a fixed stock rifle I prefer the older A1 butt stock which is about 3/4" shorter than the A2 fixed butt stock.

I have no idea how the collapsible butt stock compared in length to the fixed stocks though.

Good luck with your search. I guess you can learn to shoot it, comfortable or not, but it sure is nice to make your gun fit you vs. contorting yourself to fit the gun. I've read shotgun shooters (trap, skeet, etc.) often have specially made butt stocks for their shotguns to make it fit them better.

Pachmayr spacers can be screwed onto the M4 buttplate. When you put the buttplate into the crook of your elbow, the center of the first pad of your trigger finger should fall naturally across the face of the trigger. A guy who's 6ft 3" probably needs 13" of pull.

I completely forgot... I have this buttpad with a built-in monopod. It added a bit more than an inch and the monopod comes in pretty handy at the range.
