Another OP-Ed against NoVA gun stores opening

Op-Ed: Letter To NoVa Communities Concerned About Gun Stores

Yet another essay on why the Dillon Rule has the local government's hands tied so that can't kill two legal businesses by Congressman Donald S. Beyer Jr., Virginia’s 8th Congressional District. A Democrat, of course.

'Cause ATF is a trustworthy agency and honest citizens should suffer greater scrutiny.

Surely, he jests.

Donald Beyer is an idiot.

Let's forget, for a moment, that criminals don't generally buy guns from licensed gun dealers.

If someone is hell bent on aquiring a firearm for the purpose of shooting up a school, they're going to figure out a way to make it happen. The distance between a school and the closest gun shop is completely irrelevant. It's not like someone will drive by and think, "Hey, there's a school... AND a gun shop. What the hell, I'm bored. Maybe I'll slaughter some children today!"

Yet, the complainers are in the commentary implying that WE are the paranoid ones. Effin' idiots.

Thank God for the Dillon Rule. It keeps local government from being quite so much the instrument of uninformed local whim. Without it, places like NoVa, Charlottesville and Roanoke would be even worse liberal dictatorships than they are.

I posted this...
As far as I can tell, most of this is a lie. Nothing stops the ATF or any other law enforcement agency from arresting people for committing crimes. Nothing stops the AG from from prosecuting any criminals. Criminals don't go to gun stores to buy guns.

A dealer cheating the system will have guns missing from thier inventory with no matching sales or background check record. Plus, all sales records are kept by the American manufacturer or importers as well as the dealer for 20 years. Plus it is kept by the federal government (in violation of federal law, btw) essentially forever. There are 20 years of records that show every step from when a gun was made or imported all the way to the final customer... traceable every step. So I am not really sure how there is "no trace data".

And a quick lesson about America... We are a Nation of laws... an opposition representative government that acts for the good of the people; all people. We are not a democracy. The Constitution is the highest law of the land, written to limit the power of the Government. That supreme law says the people's rights shall not be infringed.

Congress has not spent a decade undermining oversight.... they have spent hundreds of years slowly creeping ahead on completely stripping our 2nd Amendment Rights. We have gone from "shall not be infringed" to even safety items such as hearing protection being partially or totally outlawed. Firearms ownership has been labelled as a bad thing, as if we do not have a right to protect our lives by any means necessary.

Considering we have gone from from "shall not be infringed", to our rights have been massively infringed upon, it's my opinion that you and those like you are the problem with our country and our Government. Lying to the people to push a personal or political agenda is unforgivable. This is why we need term limits.

Sounds to me like Beyer has been drinking too much of Michael Bloomberg's Kool-Aid.
