DETROIT (WWJ) – Police have arrested a woman who was wanted in connection with a wild shooting over the weekend.

Police said the woman, whose name has not yet been released, shot a man in a car at a Mobil gas station on Fenkell and Greenfield at around 4:20 a.m. Sunday.

The whole thing was caught on high-definition camera thanks to a gas station/police partnership called Project Greenlight.

In surveillance video released to the media, a heated argument is seen between a woman, dressed in a cowgirl-style get-up, who pulled up in a blue Dodge Charger with three other people — and a man in a green Pontiac Grand Prix.

At one point, the woman grabs a semi-automatic handgun from the Charger and shoots at the Grand Prix’s driver, striking him multiple times, according police. The stunned driver then begins to pull away, hitting one of the shooter’s companions with his vehicle — partially running him over.

The shooter’s other male companion was able to wrestle the gun away from her before both vehicles drive off.

Both the man who was shot and the one hit by the car received non-fatal injuries, police said. A second man in the Grand Prix was not hurt.

Police Chief James Craig says within two hours of the department releasing the video and photos, the suspect was in custody. He told WJBK-TV she was arrested about a mile away from her home after a citizen recognized her and called police.

Police said two other people were arrested as a result of the incident; one of them on traffic-related charges.

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday charged a 20-year-old Detroit woman who was allegedly caught on camera shooting a gun at a west side gas station.

Shamicah Burton, 20, was arraigned in Detroit’s 36th District Court on Wednesday on two counts of assault with intent to murder, carrying with unlawful intent, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearm. She was given a $500,000 bond.

Police allege it was Burton who was seen on video firing shots at 4:30 a.m. Sunday at a passenger in a vehicle at a gas station on the 15500 block of Fenkell.

“It is alleged that Burton went to the passenger side of the car she was in and grabbed a handgun, fired shots, and struck a male victim multiple times” before fleeing in a car, the prosecutor’s office said in an email.
