Sorry, my link was for the bullets, not the FN 5.7.
Re: Fort Hood Shooting
I dont believe in a cop killer gun, first of all, any gun that is used for an evil purpose can kill anyone, not just cops. and by the way, that is just a way a anti gunner trying to make a politcal statement, using an event like this shooting to furthur an anti gun agenda. The problem is that to a educated gun owner the anti sounds uneducated... Correct me if im wrong.

Shew, so much violence, and for the wrong reasons. If I read correctly this guy should have been out of his position a long time before. These people enlist to fight wars, how in the world could you mow down your own brothers and sisters in arms?

Re: Fort Hood Shooting
Fort Hood shooter was member of Homeland Security Panel advising Obama.
Of course. Why not? He was a "moderate." Until he wasn't.
The gunman who killed 12 people today at Ft. Hood appears, based on current media reports, to be Army psychiatrist Nidal Hasan who was listed as a participant in a Homeland Security Policy Institute's presidential transition task force last year.
The task force was not officially affiliated with the White House. It was a project of the Homeland Security Policy Institute, an independent thinktank housed at George Washington University, aimed at drafting policy recommendations for the incoming Obama administration.
According to the task force's May 2009 report [pdf], a "Nidal Hasan" from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine was a task force event participant. Other participants included Senate and House staffers, Department of Homeland Security officials, Defense Department officials, and reporters for Politico, the Washington Post, and the London Times....

You know what I would REALLY like? I want to get into the NAVY, get through Basic Training, get into BUD/s and be handed a single shot rifle and 5 rounds of ammo. That's all I should need, right? Forget 30 rounds in a magazine, I just need 1, right?

If you look up the FN on Wikipedia and scroll down to controversy, the Fort Hood shooting is already mentioned.theryans33 wrote:good thing i already own a Five-seveN and PS90, they will probably be banned soon

Re: Fort Hood Shooting
from the wikipedia page:
All I can do is shake my head. The anti-gun zealots who have nothing better to do than to create controversy and make a big deal about what kind of firearm Hasan decided to use - they make me sick. He could have gone in there with a .22 caliber and done just as much damage. But the antis want to use this as an opportunity to push their agenda - note the second paragraph where someone complains that their ban of this handgun failed in 2005.Wikipedia wrote:Controversy
The Five-Seven and 5.7x28mm ammunition were the target of brief controversy in the United States in 2004[16] when it was claimed by the Brady Campaign that commercially available SS192 penetrated a Level IIA vest in testing.[22] However, armor piercing variants of the 5.7x28mm are only offered to law enforcement and military customers.[23] Commercially available variants of the 5.7x28mm cartridge are classified by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) as being not armor piercing[24] and it was claimed that the SS192 and SS196 cartridge variants did not penetrate Kevlar vests in tests conducted by FNH USA.[24]
The Five-Seven pistol and 5.7x28mm cartridge were specifically targeted for a U.S. federal ban in 2005, which failed.[25]
In late 2009, the weapon was again the target of controversy following its use by U.S. Army psychiatrist Malik Nadal Hasan in the shooting at Fort Hood military base, where 13 were killed and 30 were wounded.[26]

Re: Fort Hood Shooting
This is a further example of how far the Anti Gun Crowd will go to promote their cause,,
Senator Accuses Anti-Gun Group of Exploiting Fort Hood Massacre
Republican Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina is lashing out against the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, accusing the group of exploiting the deadly rampage to oppose his gun lobby backed bill -- which seeks to protect veterans' rights to gun ownership.
An anti-gun group is using the shooting rampage Thursday at Fort Hood as an example in its campaign against pending gun rights legislation, drawing accusations of exploitation from a Republican senator.
Republican Sen. Richard Burr of North Carolina is lashing out against the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, accusing the group of exploiting the deadly rampage to oppose his gun lobby backed bill -- which seeks to protect veterans' rights to gun ownership.
In a statement issued Thursday, the group's president, Paul Helmke, said in light of what happened yesterday - a violent attack by an emotionally unstable soldier - it is even clearer that the proposal being pushed by Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina should be rejected."
"America has seen an epidemic of horrific gun violence at churches and synagogues, workplaces, health clubs, high schools, universities, police stations and now Army bases. This latest tragedy, at a heavily fortified army base, ought to convince more Americans to reject the argument that the solution to gun violence is to arm more people with more guns in more places. Enough is enough," said Helmke.
Burr was quick to blast Helmke's remarks, saying, "In this time of personal and national tragedy when most people’s prayers and thoughts are rightfully with the families and friends affected by the tragedy at Fort Hood, one can only be amazed that Mr. Helmke would use such an event to try to advance his personal agenda.
"It is a shame that this process has gotten to a point where some feel that they can exploit the senseless murder of American soldiers in the quest to secure personal triumph," Burr said.
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence was founded by former White House press secretary James Brady, who was shot and permanently paralyzed during a 1981 assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan.
Burr, the ranking Republican on the veterans committee, has been a staunch supporter of Second Amendment rights.

"Not to worry, I got this !!! " "Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here." Captain John ParkerRe: Fort Hood Shooting
There are the so-called cop killer bullets...but cop killer gun???? What's that???
Re: Fort Hood Shooting
Its the gun that holds the cop killer bullets, problem with both of the adjectives is, any gun when used for the wrong reason, or bullets used for the same reason can kill anyone...Bullets or guns dont discriminate if your a cop or not, so the statement in itself is incorrect, but used to satisfy anther anti gun agenda with a evil overtone....Anything to demonize the gun. Actually the gun has saved many lives, just ask any marine who has come out of a gun fight alive. The antis wont mention this in their web of lies and deceit.

Well, IMHO now that the socialists/communists have passed cap and trade and health care they will come for our guns - and not just one model.
If that happens those of you who ignored these two issues will realize why I harped about being against them. Every inch they gain brings them closer to their true objective - total domination.

Re: Fort Hood Shooting
We shouldnt wait until they do that. For cap and trade and health care: Everybody that failed to call or write their congressmen or failed to attend a protest or failed otherwise to engage the democratic system should pat themselves on the back. If we cant get organized enough to stop either of those things dont kid yourselves that we'll stop them when they comes for our guns.theryans33 wrote:I agree 100%zephyp wrote:Well, IMHO now that the socialists/communists have passed cap and trade and health care they will come for our guns - and not just one model.

Didn't he already answer the "why" question when he screamed Alla Akbar while shooting unarmed American soldiers?
