After clicking “send” on last night's alert, I realized I had somehow cut out a major name to be thanked: Delegate Lee Ware (Powhatan and Chesterfield).

Delegate Ware, who is my Delegate, has been putting in full recognition/reciprocity bills for VCDL for the last 3 years or so. Last year he almost got it passed - until the State Police tanked his bill in a finance committee for totally bogus reasons.

This year Ware’s bill, (HB 12, nonetheless!) was rolled into Delegate Webert’s bill and has now been signed into law.

Thank you, Delegate Ware, for helping VCDL blaze the trail on full reciprocity/recognition!

Also there are two Democrats that were part of the “Deal” behind the scenes that were not mentioned in last night's alert: Senator Chap Petersen and Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security, Brian Moran.

AND I forgot to mention all of you who made LOBBY DAY such a huge success this year! You had a greater affect on legislation this year than you might imagine. That big turnout could not have come at a better time! Thanks!

Finally, I would note that the Attorney General, while invited, did not attend yesterday’s signing ceremony at the Governor’s Mansion. Statewide elections next year should be fascinating!
