New Toys - Coolest Son Ever!

Post by MarcSpaz »

So, My son is the coolest son ever. He bought a Walther PPQ and a Springfield Armory 1911a1. These guns are awesome. He knew I was looking for a nice spring assist with a Tonto blade. So he got a matching Walther First Production Run blade for me.

This blade is freakin' awesome. Can't even begin to describe how heavy and stout this knife is. The paperwork says its a US Military grade tactical knife... and I believe it.

Once he turns 18, he wants to start carrying the PPQ daily and the 1911 occasionally. Got to say, the kid has good taste.

We went to Elite and ran some rounds through them. The PPQ has a nice crisp break and very little recoil. It needs some serious break-in, but I can tell its going to be a shooter for sure. The 1911a1 needs a trigger job, BAD... and I think that is going to happen next week. It shoots great, but you are squeezing blood out of a rock to get it to fire... its just that you don't realize its your blood.

Hopefully, when the sun is shining, I can get some good pictures soon. In the mean time... here are some crappy teasers. LOL

Welcome to Springfield Arms, where quality control is a concept, not a reality. My favorite story concerning a pistol from there where the purchaser fired the first magazine inserted the second and the front sight fell out is seems someone forgot to stake a dovetail to tighten it up. of course if you are a blind faith fan boy, you might say something like "I was going to replace them with night sights anyway".
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

hahahaha.... That's funny! Yea... looks great, but....

This is the first Springfield Arms we ever bought. A buddy of mine recommended a Kimber or Colt, but the price difference was way high compared to the S.A.. Guess we know why, now.

LOL... That could be a good time!

The ground is saturated up here too. We are at a low spot and just a few feet above the water table. I needed to get a bunch of old furniture out of the house, so I laid it on a tarp and used the winch to drag it to the street so we didn't mess the yard up. You can hardly walk out there. Driving on it or walking a bunch of heavy would furniture would have made a massive mess.
