I believe for the money $23.79 and free shipping I will order another to carry ammo when crossing state lines that are not friendly.

You can also use a sharp punch to pin the hinge pin in place at both ends. Just be sure that both hinges are on either the base or lid.AlanM wrote:It was pointed out to me on a forum somewhere that the pivot wire of the hinge can be removed with a small punch and a pair of pliers.
I suggest applying a VERY small amount of super glue to one end of that wire if this concerns you.
Do I have to tell you NOT to freeze up the hinge?

I thought of that and that's why I said ONE end.You can also use a sharp punch to pin the hinge pin in place at both ends. Just be sure that both hinges are on either the base or lid.

Makes sense to me.AlanM wrote:I thought of that and that's why I said ONE end.You can also use a sharp punch to pin the hinge pin in place at both ends. Just be sure that both hinges are on either the base or lid.
A close up view of the NV300 (or the others) will show that the two halves of the clamshell are identical (until the slot is cut and side pieces welded). That means that the hinge end tabs are on opposite shell halves so DON'T prick punch the both end tabs. Punch the end tab one side and the second tab on the other.
This makes A LOT more sense when you have the safe in your hands.
