I commute every day on a motorcycle so I am acutely aware of outside temps. I've personally experienced 25-30 degrees in an hour here in Virginia with quite a bit of regularity. Get a sunny spring/fall day just before the sun sets. Could be 70-80 degrees, an hour later in full darkness it could easily be 50-55. Add in some solar gain on a black sight that is sitting in full sun and you could easily add another 10-20 degrees of temp change in that hour.
Not quite the extremes that Mark cited, but I don't really consider Virginia a particularly extreme weather state.
In Colorado I've seen 20-30 degrees in < 30 minutes. I've also seen 70 degrees of change in about 4-5 hours. This was while stationary. You can get even faster temp swings as you get into the Rockies and start crossing ridge lines.

Re: Time To Ditch All EOTech HWS! Just a Paper Weight
Well, I confirmed that I am indeed affected by this issue. I have a 512 and an ESPX3-4. I zeroed both of them while outside, after a couple of hours of being in 43-44 degree weather. Then, went to the indoor range, let them spend two hours warming up to about 74 degrees and tested.
The 512 was off zero by 40 MOA!!! I almost passed out from anger. The ESPX was only off by 5 MOA.... which still sucks.
I don't have any receipts, so they can't go back. I wonder what sucker I can sell these too.

Okay... I submitted an RA for all 4 pieces. We'll see what happens. Hopefully I will get a refund.

Let us know what their response is on this... because indeed. This is bullsh't. Don't make something, then claim something, when you know it's a full on LIE!

FWIW,
Just saw a note from Arsenal Attorneys looking for EOTech owners in support of a possible class action lawsuit.

I haven't been to Matt's website in about a year. I'll check it out.

Who's A/A?
I have actually communicated with a couple of guys in the SIG forums that have gotten checks after about 2.5 weeks. I mailed mine out yesterday. If I don't hear from them by February 10, I'll start making some calls.
I am optimistic, but if it falls through, I am already a client of Matt's. I'm sure he will be interested in hearing from as many people as possible.
