Golden Boy Rifle - Red Hot Rounds

Post by MarcSpaz »

I was thinking about buying a Henry Golden Boy 22LR lever rifle. I was watching this video, and I thought you guys would get a kick out if the first 25 seconds. If you watch the range, you can watch the rounds go down range. If you have a big enough screen, make the video full screen and you will notice the reason you can see the rounds fly is because they are glowing bright red as they leave the gun. Once they cool enough, you don't see them anymore. I thing its pretty cool.

I've been thinking on a youth model for the grandkids. At around five years of age, I believe I have a time to think on it a little more. The tracer rounds are a novel, to me, idea.

I always thought they had to go at least 50 yards before they glow. I guess the 22LR's light sooner.

I would love to try some while doing bump fire or auto fire.

The product description states that the rounds are hollow and the tracer is ignited directly by combustion on discharge if I read correctly.

Ah! Cool. Yea, I didn't read the description. I'll have to take a look at it tonight when I get home. You Tube doesn't work on my phone and I'm at a TA on the way to Randy's.

Lol... TA is a truckstop. Many of them feature lot lizards, but they claim that TA stands for "Travel America".

Hahaha. H... Thanks for clearing that up. Though I don't driver professionally, I travel around th country by vehicle pretty often and for long trips (for a 4-wheeler anyway). I forget not everyone knows what a TA is. Travel Centers of America and Petro Stopping Centers are okay if you need a hot shower and not a hotel room. Pilot Flying J's do alright too. And even if you're single, its likely a good idea to avoid the lot lizards. That ride usually come with baggage you don't want.

That is a very good video, I have watched it several times . This afternoon my buddy Mike brought his new GB .22 Mag. with a nice Center point scope out to the range. It only took about a dozen rounds to get it shooting a pretty tight pattern at 50 yds. I haven't shot a lever rifle with a scope in a couple of years. I had a scope on my GB .17 and just could not get comfortable with it. We also shot our GB .22 's and Mike's Big Boy.44 Mag. Good time with those lever guns !
