A large portion of my family is Catholic, or was raised that way, anyway. My mother grew up Catholic, and attended a Catholic private school. So, I have nothing against Catholics. The Roman Catholic Church, as an institution, on the other hand, I do have a problem with. But, my problem is mainly a difference in theology. I also differ in theology when it comes to Calvinism, too.
I take issue with Pope Francis, not because he's Catholic , but more because it seems like he's NOT Catholic. I doubt that he's even Christian. He sounds very Unitarian, to me. I can't say what's in his heart; that's between him and God. But he surely walks and quacks like a Marxist Muscovy.
Regardless, even if he did come off as the perfect Catholic, I don't particularly care about his visit. Why would I? Why would anyone who is not Catholic? As a protestant Christian, I think it's cool when Billy Graham comes to town, and might even show up to the event, but continuous news coverage of that would also drive me nuts. A preacher is a man. That's it. No less susceptible to sinful behavior than myself.
