Predictions on tonight's debate.

Post by dorminWS »

Interesting. Trump is entertaining and says a lot of things I agree with, but I don't trust him and the thought of him being the republican nominee scares the CRAP out of me.

I predict the attendees will be wearing tank tops because of all the hot air being blown around.

I trust Trump more than any of the professional politicians. I'm sick of the blatant lies, deception, & straight BS that most professional pols feed to the public. It would be very refreshing imo, to see a President who speaks more truth, & less political BS. Added bonus that he is not tied to lobbyists & their agendas.

I don't trust him because he has openly admitted that he has bought access to politicians. If he tells you that is how it works, how is he going to be any different? He already says "I, I, I" and not a darn thing about how he plans on getting anything done with Congress being the way it is, or is he planning on doing things like the current President and ignore them because they are so disfunctional? I also believe he will do the same type of things the Clintons did and do to launder money through their "foundation".

I just wonder how he will react in a few weeks, if Dr. Carson passes him without being any more belligerent or mean spirited than he is. I was hoping for more from Rand Paul, but it looks like the field is already starting to shrink and he is closer to the bottom than top. Governor Perry quit and I am guessing it will be down to 12 maybe even 10 by this year's election day, after all there are 4 more pollling at less than 2%. If they haven't caught fire yet, they probably won't...
You just have to ask yourself, is he telling you the truth based on knowledge and experience or spreading internet myths?

I don't trust Trump for pretty much the same the reasons GrumpyMSG gives, and because like Christy, he's from New York where even a "conservative" is liberal by my standards, and because even though I'm sure he would have competent "people" if elected, he seems pretty superficial on a lot of things. I just don't think you'd know what you had until he got in office and decided that for himself. You know - like the guy we've got now.

I'm also sick of politics as usual. I like Rand Paul because he would shake things up, and has openly stated he'd eliminate or greatly reduce several federal agencies. I also like Walker. I think he's got the right stuff. I like Carson, too; but he may be too nice a guy. We need a hard-nosed S.O.B. in there right now.

I don't trust any of them !!!! BUT ...Any of these Candidates are better than what we have had for the last 7 years! I never thought I would support Trump just because he has the BALLS to say what needs to be said.

Just remember, McCain was in 5th place this time two cycles ago. It's a sprint, not a marathon. A lot of people shot up real quick and fizzled out last cycle. Candidates like Paul, Carson, and Cruz are just playing the long game. I'm actually surprised Perry dropped out so soon. Running out of money is probably the only reason anyone should quit this early in the game.

While I'm all for a candidate that's not a career politician, and I'm happy the Republican party has quite a few of those this cycle, I don't feel good about Trump's finger on the nuclear launch button. Gives me chills.

I have to say... I have zero intent on getting behind a candidate that has ZERO experience in the world of politics. We need a politician, and I'll explain way...

My whole life, I have been taught that I can't do everything. I have to trust others to do some things I simply can't do. I have also been taught that I need to trust but verify. I found that the less experience someone has, the less I can trust them and the more verification is required because more mistakes are made.

That said, I can't trust but verify anything a non-politician says they are going to do because they have ZERO experience and nothing to use to verify that they have a history of taking the political action they say they will take to make things better. I'm not saying we shouldn't give them a chance, but they should start somewhere a little less critical... like Alderman.

Do we want to put someone with no experience in charge of everything? I mean, there are supposed to be checks and balances between the 3 branches, but that clearly isn't working.

If you do... let me know the next time you need to have major life saving surgery. My 17 year old son has been reading WebMD like a champ and wants to be your doctor. I'm sure that he'll take great care or you.

I agree! "Playing" politician makes Trump feel good about himself. He doesn't really care about the people.

It would be nice to have someone who wasn't a psychopathic narcissist wanting to be president... but you kinda have to be one, to WANT to be president.

Maybe we should run rotation? Since you're "Commander-in-Chief", what about you get to 4 star General, and then you become CIC for a 6 year period, then someone else gets a turn? Just brainstorming, I'm sure there are logistics that would counter this.

I'm not as concerned with Trump's finger on the button as I am with Putin's or that little C-sucker in N. Korea !

:tinfoil:
I have a conspiracy theory for you all to ponder, so get your hats on.

Trump is a plant by the Clintons. He used to be a Democrat. He has been told not to run against the establishment Dem candidates (Obama, Clinton). He is in the Republican field to make them look stupid (not a difficult task). His job is to suck all the air out of the room, just as he is doing, and pave the way for the Hildebeast to be the nominee and win the election in '16.

Yeah, it's a stretch, and maybe I should have used heavy duty foil. :hysterical:
