I just wandered into my local WalMart (north side of Charlottesville on 29) and surprise!, surprise!
They had Federal Auto Match, 1200 fps, .22lr ammo in stock.
The young lady at the sporting goods counter said that they got 60 boxes of 325 rounds in today.
She asked me if I wanted my three box limit at $18.97 a box and I declined and only bought one, which seemed to surprise her.
The thing is I've probably got over 3000 rounds squirreled away and right now, since I don't have a shooting partner, getting to the RRPC range is a total PITA for me.
For those that don't know it, I'm "mobility challenged" and use a walker. Dragging my range bag and rifle into the club house/range is a major operation.
Oh, for those mathematically inclined $18.97/325 equals 5.837 cents per round or $29.18 for 500 if you could buy it that way.
3 boxes. 975 rounds, is $56.91 plus tax.
Here's a link to the specs. on this ammo.

There are no dangerous weapons; there are only dangerous men. - RAH
Four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo - use in that order.
If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.
