So T-Mac did this
http://www.richmond.com/news/local/arti ... 10923.html
The Confederate flag emblem will soon be removed from specialty license plates in Virginia, Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced this morning.
McAuliffe's decision comes on the heels of efforts in South Carolina to remove the Confederate flag from the statehouse grounds following a racially motivated shooting that left nine dead in a Charleston church.
It also follows a Supreme Court decision last week that ruled states can censor messages on license plates.
“Although the battle flag is not flown here on Capitol Square, it has been the subject of considerable controversy, and it divides many of our people" McAuliffe said in a statement. "Even its display on state-issued license tags is, in my view, unnecessarily divisive and hurtful to too many of our people."
Virginia approved specialty plates for the Sons of Confederate Veterans in 1999, but the law specifically banned the stars and bars image. The Sons of Confederate Veterans sued the state and won the right to display the Confederate emblem on grounds of free speech. The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in 2002 affirmed the group's right to have the logo on the plates.
But the Supreme Court last week issued an opinion in a similar lawsuit between Texas and the Sons of Confederate Veterans that the images could be banned on license plates because they fall under the category of government-sponsored speech.
McAuliffe said today that the Attorney General's Office will take steps to reverse the prior court ruling in Virginia and the Department of Transportation will develop a plan for replacing the existing plates as soon as possible.
As of the end of last month, 1,594 plates carrying the Sons of Confederate Veterans logo were circulating in Virginia.
“These steps will, I hope, make clear that this commonwealth does not support the display of the Confederate battle flag or the message it sends to the rest of the world," McAuliffe said.
Speaker of the House William J. Howell, R-Stafford, said in a statement that McAuliffe and Attorney General Mark Herring are taking appropriate steps.
"The legislation passed by the General Assembly in 1999 was clear that the emblem should not be part of the plate design. I still think that is the case," Howell said in a statement.
"At the time the courts felt that was a violation of the First Amendment, but in light of the Supreme Court’s latest ruling it is appropriate for the governor and the attorney General to review the application of Virginia law."

So, everything about this Country prior to the emancipation proclamation is divisive and hurtful to some Virginians?

That's what happens when you elect a G**D**** yankee carpetbagger Governor.
I'm not at all racist. But I do resent that a few vacuous dumbasses soil a part of our heritage with their hateful credo by having their pictures made while standing mouth-breathing in front of it and all of a sudden it is a symbol of hate.
The KKK has also always similarly wrapped itself in the Stars and Stripes. Why isn't THAT also banned? Because southern heritage is regarded as being tainted by SLAVERY? BULLSHIT! All of AMERICAN heritage is tainted by slavery. But it's in the past. Nobody's been a slave or owned a slave for 150 years or so. There were PLENTY of atrocities committed by both sides before, during, and after the unpleasantness of 1860-1865. Everybody concerned needs to quit whining, bitching, and throwing rocks and belittling the other side about grievances between their long-dead ancestors and just treat each other like folks. That includes not censoring parts of either side's heritage because a few idiots might abuse it.

A long read but, well worth it..... http://confederategray.blogspot.com/201 ... ald-w.html You wont find many of these facts in your average history book. Plenty of people are content believing what they want to believe. The truth rarely matters. Especially if it contradicts their ideology.

I am offended be illegal aliens being allowed to fly, display, and/or wear the Mexican flag on American soil.

Re: So T-Mac did this
A guy goes into a bar in Northern Virginia where there's a robot bartender.
The robot says, "What will you have?"
The guy says, "Whiskey." The robot brings back his drink and says to the man, "What's your IQ?"
The guy says, "168." The robot then proceeds to talk about physics, space exploration and medical technology.
The guy leaves, . . . but he is curious . . . So he goes back into the bar.
The robot bartender says, "What will you have?"
The guy says, "Whiskey." Again, the robot brings the man his drink and says, "What's your IQ?"
The guy says, "100." The robot then starts to talk about Nascar, Budweiser, and the Redskins.
The guy leaves, but finds he is even more bemused by this robot, so he thinks he will try it one more time.
He goes back into the bar. The robot says, "What will you have?"
The guy says, "Whiskey," and the robot brings him his whiskey. The robot then says, "What's your IQ?"
The guy says, "Uh, bout 50."
The robot leans in real close and says, "SO, . . . you people still happy with Terry McAuliffe?"

Re: So T-Mac did this
Let me make sure I have all this right...
Illegal immigrants from North, Central and South America can come to the US and instead of being sent home or at least assimilating, we have to work 2 full-time jobs to support our families and theirs, while learning Spanish and Portuguese so I can buy gas at 7-11, talk to the guy who cuts my grass and order a hamburger at McDonald's.
Muslims claim to hate Sharia, but then come to America and want to bring the F'ed up culture they left behind instead of assimilating, and continue to propagate the hate and stupidity. Then the POTUS forces acceptance of Muslims down our throat and their religion is protected with our police force at every mosque. (btw... happy Ramadan everyone.)
We have to be be forced to participate in LGBT weddings if we own a business, regardless of what our religious beliefs are. (No offense intended to my gay friends. Just illustrating a point.)
If you are proud of your White American heritage, you know... like... for the country we are actually living in... you are a racist intolerant bastard. And if you are a Jew or Christian... Off WITH YOUR HEAD!
Does that about some it up?
Ah... whatever. I'll be at Famous Dave's Barbeque for most of the month if you need me. I'll be the fat American OC'ing with a gold crucifix necklace, a cammo hat with the Dixie battle flag on it, and a smokin' hot blond female to my left. Come see me if you get the chance.

Re: So T-Mac did this
That's generally true of "legal slavery", and it should be acknowledged that we've come a long way, but slavery is still very much a brutal reality in the world... including America. In some places it is so tolerated, that it really can't be considered illegal.dorminWS wrote:All of AMERICAN heritage is tainted by slavery. But it's in the past. IMHO, for those who believe in freedom, this should be high on their radar.
Hmmm. interesting quote from National Geographic.
My grandfather said, "Always use your head!".
I told him, "I want to pound nails!"
He said, "Best use a hammer instead."

On the serious side:
We are under a great assault, and it's just the beginning. What I saw look like communist propaganda tactics. Keep quiet and you lose.

Yep , you seem to be right on target there , Marc . If you could post a pic of that smoking hot blond female ( just so we recognize her ) when we show up at Famous Dave's would be great !MarcSpaz wrote:Let me make sure I have all this right...

That's not me... no hat.
But you are right. If you sit by and not do or say anything and just let people guilt you into behaving a certain way or accepting a certain behavior, either by our citizens or our government, then the battle will be lost. And we are losing.
I know the man was far from a perfect president... but we really need another Reagan Revolution. I hope its on the horizon.
Randy... If I recall, you already have a smokin' hot YL of your own. LOL
Probably not what you or I were originally thinking... but here are a couple of my favorites of the Mrs...

This measure will only apply to license plates. NOTHING ELSE will be affected.................................for now. Remind me again what "Progressive" means.

NPS banning the flag from battlefield gift shops:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powe ... s/?hpid=z5
Pretty soon it will be illegal to fly it anywhere including at your house. Think I am wrong?:

How is a man flying the flag at his own home the top news story?
