Marine Corps veteran’s proposed gun shop riles Arlington, VirginiaThey really don’t know anything about the shop, what it’s going to be — or federal firearms laws for that matter. They’re really shooting first and then asking questions later.

Four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, ammo - use in that order.
If you aren't part of the solution, then you obviously weren't properly dissolved.

Don't know what the guy expected. He may as well have been trying to open a gun store inside the White House.

I read the article, all I came away with is "Why haven't we just separated Arlington from Virginia, and just given it to D.C.?"
And Alexandria.
Just those two counties.... I think would offset some of my fervent dislike for what happens in the Northern end of the state.

Can you say "tax revenue"? How much tax money would politicians be willing to part with?Reverenddel wrote:I read the article, all I came away with is "Why haven't we just separated Arlington from Virginia, and just given it to D.C.?"

My grandfather said, "Always use your head!".
I told him, "I want to pound nails!"
He said, "Best use a hammer instead."

Rev, we tried that in 1801 and in the early 1830's, the people decided to trade tax dollars for representation. In 1846, VA took their land back. Granted, they violated Article 1 of the constitution, but money talks. LOL

You know? Most of the people I talk to in the SOUTHERN part of Virginia are willing to sacrifice the tax revenue. The politicians aren't. But even those guys are starting to come around.
The only people who talk about how much "money" NoVa dumps into the state are peoplein NoVa... the rest of us are willing to live without to be free.
