NYPD officer was shot in the head. The guy looked suspicious as he was adjusting his pants and looked like he was carrying a gun. This doesn't sound good to me. Are we in trouble if we adjust our pants?

Re: NYPD Officer shot in the head
The perps sagging pants made it easier for the cops to catch him after the shooting. I'm still trying to figure out how he was shot when handguns are illegal in NYC.

I still question "Is adjusting your pants going to draw attention and LE"? This concerns me a bit.

For those of us who can properly wear a pair of pants, it shouldn't be a problem. For the rest of them, change your diaper, it's full and dragging your pants down.

Re: NYPD Officer shot in the head
The way I read the article, I don't think there is a problem for citizens in good standing. Sounds like this shooter appeared to be making adjustments to his pants in a way that didn't fit the typical "adjustments" men usually make. The verbiage lead me to believe that the pants adjusting only alerted them to the fact that he was trying to hide a gun, which lead them to check on him.
Also, while talking to the suspect, they were sitting in a car. They were not outside the car holding weapons at the ready. This tells me that, though they thought he was trying to hide a gun, they did not immediately assume he was a criminal or a threat. If they did, it would not have been a convo from the car, but rather hoping out with weapons drawn.
Besides, I'm not the kind of guy to give a LEO grief because he wants to be sure the community is safe. I have been approached recently because I parked in a parking lot away from everyone else and away from the building. A LEO came over and asked about it because it was odd for a shopper to park so far away. When I explained that I was simply trying to avoid my new $50k vehicle from getting a door ding, the LEO understood and moved on. I'm glad they stopped. Stuff like that doesn't trouble me. Especially if they are polite about it.

And the perp should follow him, as soon as possible.
