That thar's some real performance!

I've seen whistling teakettles with more get up and go! :hysterical:
My grandfather said, "Always use your head!".
I told him, "I want to pound nails!"
He said, "Best use a hammer instead."

Its been done. This is just am incompetent implementation. The 1867 Roper steam velocipede probably stomped this piece, and the 1884 version supposedly did 40 mph!

Steam vehicles significantly outperformed internal combustion vehicles into the 1900's. A Stanley Steamer set a world speed record of 127 mph in 1906!!! It stood as a speed record until 1910!

This is probably a first attempt at a steam engine, and probably built to specifications designed by a guy who had never actually designed a steam engine before.

Given that, I am impressed that it moved under it's own steam. It may also be a minor miracle that it didn't blow up.

I wonder if they plan on figuring out how to improve upon the design; we may have to revert back to steam, one day.

Yup. I used to know a lot of old railroad engineers and firemen who started out on steam engines. Every one of them SWORE that the diesel locomotive had never been built that would pull as much as one of those biggest steam engines.
