Re: Texas set to allow open carry of handguns
Congratulations Texas, you'll have caught up to Virginia. Not exactly the bar I'd like to use to measure a state's level of freedom. I know Virginia is a lost cause for true freedom due to the proximity of DC and the reliance on defense funding, but the "don't mess with Texas" mantra is leaving a lot to be desired.
Once again, I am disappointed with the science deniers that claim the world is going to end when a new gun law is passed. They did it with concealed carry laws and they're doing it again here.
I guess in the end people are only going to see what they want to see and to hell with objective metrics.

(shrugs) Still not leaving VA just yet. GA, TN, and KY look pretty damned good as alternatives.

I think it's funny how the uninformed consider Texas to be the gun rights capital of the country. I guess they picture literal cowboys strolling around their ranches and towns and city streets with a six-shooter strapped onto each leg. And here, they haven't even had OC yet!

They used to have OC. I'd be curious why it was outlawed to begin with.

It was the whole cowboy thing. City folk get their delicate urban feathers ruffled when they see a G-U-NMarcSpaz wrote:They used to have OC. I'd be curious why it was outlawed to begin with.

You mean the effin' carpetbaggers that were "offended" that Texans were being Texans....
Just like the dear state of North Carolina has decidedly fallen because of the influx of effin' carpetbaggers. Their gun laws are RIDICULOUS!
