Snoop Dogg gets Texas Trooper in Trouble

Post by SHMIV »

Apparently, Snoop Dogg approached a Texas State Trooper, and asked to have his photo taken with him. The Trooper agreed, the photo was taken, and Snoop posted the pic on Instagram, with the caption " me n my deputy dogg".

The Trooper, who was working security at a fair, is now in trouble for being photographed with a known felon.

Seems silly to me. With all the tension between white cops and black citizens, having a black public figure volunteer for a photo with a white cop seems like good publicity for law enforcement, in general. Besides, the Trooper didn't look the type to recognize who Snoop Dogg is. Is a Trooper supposed to run a background check on anyone who wants to take a picture?

Much to do about nothing.

This is so dumb. There are plenty of felons in the music industry, both black and white. Way to screw up a perfectly good opportunity for some positive community outreach, DPS.

seen on some documentary, cops do it frequently with gang members and wanna bes so they have photos of affiliates of the gangs. Possible photo id of future suspects.

How stupid can you get. I don't run background checks on everyone I have friendships with, much less a brief interaction with a stranger. Even though I know who Snoop is, if I bumped into him on the streets, I sure as heck wouldn't recognize him.

One day I was on the metro standing next to Ashton Kutcher and a couple of his friends. I had no idea who he was. Some lady pulled her camera out and said "do you mind?" He said "No, please do." She was thrilled. When she got off the train, I was looking at him and just shook my head. He laughed and said "that's probably my next internet mug shot." I laughed and said... "where does she know you from." Ashton said "probably from the screen actors gild." It wasn't until he said that, that I recognized him. And I was on the train with him for over 15 minutes bumping shoulders.

You can't fault this Trooper for having his picture taken. And if he didn't, the public would have found out and spun it as the Troopers are all racist.
