Tired Of Overreach: I Contacted my Reps

Post by MarcSpaz »

I am sick of the alphabet agencies writing rules and enforcing them as law. The latest threat of the ATF banning M855 and now all 5.56 ammo is a great example. My 1 gallon toilet engineered to save water, but needs to be flushed 3 times per use, and my $25 15 year life span light bulbs that get replace 3 times more frequently than incandescent are just a few examples.

I sent this letter (or one like it) to every State and Federal elected official that represents me. Likely on deaf ears... but we'll see.
Senator Colgan
I have some serious concerns about our Federal Government and non-elected officials passing rules under the color of law, which grossly affect life in the US and Virginia. Agencies such as the EPA, BATFE, BLM, etc. are frequently expanding on laws which have serious impacts on our God given and Constitutionally protected rights.

I could waste your time quoting hundreds of examples, but I know with certainty that you are aware of both current and historical events, especially pertaining to BLM and BATF. I would not insult you, implying that you don’t.

I realize that reaching out to my US Congress is a good way to have my voice be heard, but I am just one man and I feel like my voice gets lost in the noise on Capitol Hill. Even if my concerns are factual, accurate, and supported by law, it seems the current Administration (regardless of what side of the isle they sit) seem to be failing to take action.

Is there anything at all that the Senate in the great Commonwealth of Virginia, can and is willing to do to help the voice of the People of Virginia and the United States, on Federal Hill? I hope there is an opportunity for you to take action. We need to ensure elected officials are making laws, as our Reprehensive Government was intended.

I thank you for your time and considerations.

Sincerely
Marc Spaz

Of course. I hope no one actually believes that it costs HHS/USPHS $1.3 Trillion a year to make sure food and medicine is safe.

The FDA is useless. I notice that every thing that they approve ends up as the subject of a lawsuit.

Speaking of overreach; Andrew Wilkow was talking about the possibility of the government regulating backyard barbecues. Apparently, a study has been commissioned to determine the effects of barbecuing in relation to climate change. I have not fact checked this; it may be nothing.

Hahahaha! I don't know what would be worse... if it was true or if it is false, but the government is so overstepping their authority that it sounds not only believable, but likely.

That's the tragedy of it; we hear that barbecues could be regulated, and automatically find it plausible.

20 years, anyone who suggested that you might need a permit to cook a $2 package of hotdogs on a $20 charcoal grill would have been laughed out of the room because the idea is so absurd.

Whether true or not, it does demonstrate the extremity of current over reach.

How about rainwater capture in your yard for a garden being illegal? Maybe not in VA, but it is in many states.

I've heard of someone who had a natural occurring puddle from rain runoff that was about 3 feet deep and 25 feet in diameter... maybe for a few days after, being subject to some taxes and regulations for having "navigable waters" on their land.

I wonder if the taxes are prorated for after the water seeps into the grouns and evaporates?

Got to see if I can find the story.

Here's a link to that barbecue thing; I can't speak to the reputation of the site, but here it is,anyway :

I figure that if I start collecting rain water, I'll likely hide the containers. Maybe bury a brand new septic tank for that purpose, or something.

It is hard to explain to a lot of younger people about what the government has been doing for the past 45 years. Most of them do not realize how much the "nanny state" has grown over this period of time. Most believe the government is the final word because they were not taught any different.
