The Admiral's Visit

Post by Greybeard »

An admiral visited one of the ships of the line under his command. While
eating breakfast with the crew he was impressed to see the Naval insignia
stamped on every biscuit.

He went to the Chief Cook to ask how this feat was done, so it could be
used on other ships under his command.

The Chief replied, "I'd be glad to share that with you, Admiral. After each
biscuit is cut, I just slap it here against my belt buckle which bears the
Navy insignia."

Horrified the Admiral exclaims, "That's very unhygienic!"

The Chief cook shrugs and replies, "Well, if that's the way you feel, Sir, I
suggest you avoid the donuts."

Years ago it was suggested that, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away." But since all the doctors are now Muslim, I've found that a bacon sandwich works great!

Or the guy that has access to your shot record or your pay record.

I once saw a corpsman walk up to a sailor, pull out a 8'5 x 11 card and tear it up into small pieces and drop them in front of the sailor. The sailor examined the pieces and found they used to be his shot record. We were about to leave on a West Pac. cruise. He was notified the next day to report to sickbay for shots.

Each Saturday we have "Morale Dinner Nights" I told my OPS Boss we just need to call it what it is. FS Appreciate night. Damn I couldn't stand cooking for all these people every day 4 times a day.

P.S.

Pretty much holds true at home and at restaurants too!
My grandfather said, "Always use your head!".
I told him, "I want to pound nails!"
He said, "Best use a hammer instead."

Also, don't piss off the person mixing your drink at the bar. I hate it when I can't see through my glass when there's more coke than bourbon in it.
