VA-ALERT: Class III sign-off bill clears committee!

Good news! Delegate LaRock’s HB 2009, which requires the chief law enforcement officer (CLEO) to act upon Class III (Form 4) applications, passed out of committee by an 8 to 5 margin and heads to the Senate Floor!

HB 2009 doesn’t say the CLEO has to sign the Form 4 if the CLEO has a valid reason to believe that the applicant shouldn’t be allowed to possess a Class III item.

(Class III items are things like machine guns, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, and suppressors.)

The antis spoke against the bill.

Gun-grabber Senator Saslaw actually said that people don’t need machine guns to hunt deer!

Salsaw is a smart man, but the 2nd Amendment is clearly just too much for him to understand. Maybe semi-colons confuse him? The Second Amendment says nothing at all about hunting deer and I would love to have the good Senator show me exactly where hunting of any kind is mentioned. Senator?
