I expect that God will get His justice, in His way and in His time.

And thinking about that gives me a sudden sense of peace about the whole thing.

God intervening in man's plans on earth defies free will. Just a thought.

The idea that God will intervene reminds me of a joke...

There was a huge flood along the Mississippi and entire neighborhoods were getting flooded. This devote Christian refused to leave his house.

The water was halfway up the first floor and a boat came by. The man refused to leave with them, proclaiming "I'm not leaving. My God will save me." So the boat left.

Later, the water was to the second floor and another boat came by. The man refused to leave with them, proclaiming "I'm not leaving. My God will save me." So the second boat left.

Toward the end, the water was too rough for a boat. The water was all the way to the top of the roof. The man was just barely hanging on when A helicopter came by. The man refused to leave with them, proclaiming "I'm not leaving. My God will save me." So the chopper left.

Well, the man died in the flood. He went to heaven and went before God. He asked "Lord, I have been a good and faithful servant my whole life. Why didn't you save me?" And the Lord replied "I sent you two boats and a helicopter. You turned them away."

The moral of the story is... divine intervention in times of crisis and war are not the direct Hand of God. It is the work of Men with free will, who choose to take action behalf of the will of God. Free Men who have been inspired by the Word and Love of God. Some days the Good Lord sends a rescue boat or a chopper. Same days he send the United States Marines.

My Dad has used that flood joke as a sermon illustration, multiple times.

Yeah, Daddy's a pretty wise guy. Great story teller, too. Listen to him talk, or read what he writes, it makes me look illiterate, lol.

So by that illustration, DI is in conjunction with, not defiance. Just thinking..

So, I'm not sure how to answer that any way but explaining my opinion better.

Men have free will. Men who act on the behalf of other men based on the teachings of the Lord would be your Devine Intervention.

Its a crude explanation, but its the best I'm going to do at dinner while on my phone. LoL

was speaking of eternal consequences. We all answer for our deeds and misdeeds. I somehow don't see the people who burned this man to death falling on their face and begging for forgiveness for their sins

I'd rather give the evil bastages instant karma than wait for some eternal justice that might never come. It seems to me that doing nothing, in the hope of some DI that may not exist, is not a well-calculated risk.

I say we just combine Christie's and Bob's thoughts to form a whole idea... Remember, its God's job to forgive, it's our job to arrange the meeting.

I suppose that the case could be made that it may even be our duty to arrange the meeting.

Standing with Jerusalem,and all that.

We have to support Jerusalem. Whether Jewish or Christian, without Jacob (Israel) the patriarch, none of us would be. We may still have become God fearing, but at least not be who we are today. Slaves in Egypt or the Middle-East I suppose.
