Near miss, Subway store robbed at knifepoint
by muxtech on Mon Feb 09, 2015 10:51 pm

I stopped in at the local Subway sandwich shop on Oberlin Ave in Lorain Sunday Feb. 8th around 3 pm. After I finished eating at home, a friend stopped by and said that there were 5 police cars at the Subway down the street. I went there today and learned that they, (two young female employees) were robbed at knifepoint. It had to have been shortly after I had left. No one was hurt, but it sounds like they were shaken up pretty bad. They said that they do have good video of the perp's face. I didn't want to ask too many questions. It was good that they told me that much. I hope that they get him.

Today I'm asking myself, what if I had walked in on them? It can happen anywhere, anytime, even somewhere I'd been a hundred times before without incident. Makes you think.

I have looked all over online for a news story, but cannot find one, yet. The reporters must be off on Sunday.

Bank of America? But, I thought that they were protected by "No Guns" signs?

Maybe the sign was faulty.

My local BofA doesn't have a "No Guns" sign.

You know? Most predators won't attack the weaker if they see someone that they perceive to be strong.

If you dress a certain way, carry yourself a certain way, it puts them off. Throws their game. This is what concerns me, because if a predator has no concern for life, they will have gun in hand, and just start shooting.

Because of this, where you SIT in any location plays a part.

So my thoughts? The thief waited for you to LEAVE brotha! BECAUSE... INDEED, he knew you weren't a "victim".

I needed to go to the pharmacy by my house one day. I had gone to get my wife some food at a local cafe'. Instead of going into the pharmacy on the way home, I went home and gave my wife her food, then went right back out. It took me all of about 7 minutes to pass the pharmacy, give my wife her food, and go back to the pharmacy.

When I got there, I had literally just missed and armed robbery. Two people with guns stole drugs at gun point. I got there after they left, but before the police arrived. If I didn't drop my wife's food off, I would have been at the pharmacy counter when they got robbed.

Fortunately, no one was hurt... but damn... Between that and I actually stopped two people in an attempted murder in progress, I almost never leave home without my gun.
