Northern Virginia Gun Works - Springfield, VA

[Ron71]

Had an overall pleasant experience at NVGW today. I took in my grandfather's old .32L S&W "Lemon Squeezer" to have it looked over and checked for safety.

Let me first comment about a common complaint - many people rant about Mr. Garrett's grumpy demeanor. I can see where they get that impression, but who gives a crap about a gunsmith's personality as long as he knows his trade. Maybe I didn't mind so much because I was prepared for it, but the man helped me out and didn't charge me a dime. He showed me how to disassemble a 100-year old revolver and warned me about a delicate spring that is prone to breaking. That's pretty nice despite his "grumpiness".

If I ever have a problem and need a gunsmith, I'll be coming back to Mr. Sour Pants.
