1. Emily Miller to speak at VCDL Lobby Day on January 19th
********************************************************
Emily Miller, chief investigative reporter for Fox 5 DC and the author of "Emily Gets Her Gun"' has graciously agreed to be one of the speakers at Lobby Day on January 19th!
She joins David Codrea on the list of guest speakers. You don't want to miss Lobby Day 2015!
Watch for more speaker announcements coming soon.

Distribute the flyer at local gun stores, gun shows, and at meetings of like-minded groups. Place them on bulletin boards at stores. Hand them to friends and co-workers. If they own a gun, hand them a flyer!
Please help us to get the word spread as far as possible!

3. Almost enough: a few Standby Team Leaders needed for Lobby Day
********************************************************
We have 18 team leaders, but we need some additional standby team leaders just in case a team leader can't get to Lobby Day on time for some reason.
From EM Bob Sadtler:
Office assignments are out, and we are ready to assign teams to legislators, but we could still use three or four more volunteers. If you can take this on, please do so. This is the most important thing that VCDL does as a group all year, and we want to maximize our impact. If you can pitch in, please contact me at LobbyDay@vcdl.org.

4. Antis run dangerous PSA encouraging children to steal guns and bring them to school!
********************************************************
How about this anti-gun PSA? It directs children to steal (and by necessity, handle) their parent's gun, take it to school in their backpack, keep it in class with them until class is over, walk up to the teacher, reach in the backpack and pull out the gun (probably pointing it at the teacher as they do so), and ask the teacher to "do something with the gun" because the student doesn't feel safe at home with it!
When the anti-gunners are losing the battle, their desperation usually leads to some pretty funny antics, but this crosses the line into being outright dangerous and ruining a child's life by turning him or her into a felon.
1. If the child hasn't been trained to handle a firearm, there is a chance they could shoot themselves, an innocent third-part, or even the teacher as they handle the gun (sounds like a great potential lawsuit aimed at the PSA creator to me)
2. The child will have committed at least one major FELONY by bringing that gun onto school property and odds are high he or she WILL be prosecuted or, at a minimum, expelled. They will also be breaking laws on possession of a handgun by someone under the age of 18, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, brandishing, reckless endangerment, and so on.
3. The child is being encouraged to steal someone else's property
It's not about "gun safety" for the antis and this is yet another example of that fact. They will gladly endanger and sacrifice innocent lives to reach their goal of disarming their fellow American citizens.

5. Richmond City Council supporting anti-gun legislation for Virginia
********************************************************
The City of Richmond's legislative agenda includes magazine bans, gun bans, and support for Universal Background Checks (leading to Universal Registration).
The first release of the agenda showed just how little City Council knows of guns and gun laws. The document said that only handguns require background checks and not long guns!
The maximum number of rounds that can be held by a magazine? They looked at their fingers and decided the magic number was 10! Too bad they didn't count their toes, too.
Member Michael Gilbert was all over the situation and at least got the City to update their agenda to quote actual law on background checks. He also pointed out that the City provided a rationale for the background checks (albeit a wrong-headed one), but they had no such rationale for the gun ban and magazine limitations.
You can see the original agenda item on page 27 and the updated agenda item on page 58 of this PDF:
