Figured it's best to ask before getting in trouble

Post by babadook »

Hey everyone! Quick question which I havent been able to find an answer to; So, I purchased my Glock 3 1/2 years ago I was about 22 years old. But Soon after that about 3 years ago I got into trouble and got two counts of possession of marijuana charges. Now I've been reading the VA's laws up and down and all I'm seeing is that a person has to wait 5 years prior to the second charge before being able to purchase a hand gun. And also Virginia does not require you to register the gun.

Since I already own my hand gun will I get in trouble if I'm open carrying it and get stopped by an officer and he/she runs my name in the system and sees that I have 2 misdemeanors 3 years ago? I just love open carrying my gun because it makes me feels safer and also I like practicing my right to open carry. Or i dont wanna get in trouble on the way to the firing range :\

I hope that was clearing and not confusing.
