The VCDL 2014 Federal Candidate Survey was mailed to all 37 candidates running for the US Senate and the House of Representatives.
Unfortunately, only 9 of the 37 candidates have responded to the survey. The other 28 candidates apparently want to keep you in the dark on their positions.
**Dave Brat, in House District 07, was the only major party candidate who wanted you to know his position on this key issue.**
Failure to return a completed survey frequently indicates indifference, if not outright hostility, toward the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Interesting results. No VCDL-PAC endorsements this year?

It's only fair they endorse Sarvis*. If they don't I'm inclined to let my VCDL membership lapse despite not being a Sarvis fan.ShotgunBlast wrote:Interesting results. No VCDL-PAC endorsements this year?

* I am aware they endorsed Cuccinelli last year despite Sarvis' better results, but I figured Cuccinelli's proven record was worth more than Sarvis' theoretical answers.

What if they choose not to endorse anyone this year due to "lack of participation"? I'm surprised it's a day before the election and not a peep from VCDL-PAC. I guess their guy didn't bother filling out the survey so they're quiet this year.

Hard to claim your huge level of influence when only one race ( the 7th where both the R & D candidate answered, and with only 1 question different) had any non libertarian answer.ShotgunBlast wrote:What if they choose not to endorse anyone this year due to "lack of participation"? I don't know if I was a PAC I'd stand up and wave and say "look how many people ignored us"

I think VCDL-PAC operates on a literal shoestring budget, so your reasoning makes sense, however not endorsing anybody defeats the purpose of surveying entirely.jdonovan wrote:Hard to claim your huge level of influence when only one race ( the 7th where both the R & D candidate answered, and with only 1 question different) had any non libertarian answer.ShotgunBlast wrote:What if they choose not to endorse anyone this year due to "lack of participation"?
