Gander Mt coming to Woodbridge

Post by jcgorla »

I was over at WalMart on Worth Ave today and saw what looks like a new Gander Mountain store going in the warehouse that used to house the USMC Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle offices. Sure enough a search turned up this:

http://www.gandermountain.com/store-loc ... dge-VA-345

and also this

http://www.ammoland.com/2014/05/new-gan ... 3Ee5aWIuZ'

Looks like it should be open this Fall.

I've been watching them build this place for awhile. Gander Mountain has lower prices than REI, a much better selection than REI and Dick's, and now I don't have to drive to Fredericksburg to shop there. I'm diggin' it.

Funny, I'd rather shop at REI than Gander any day. Better quality stuff, comparable prices especially if you become a member. GM has the highest prices on new firearms I've ever seen, and some of the least knowledgeable sales staff, too. The GM in Charlottesville is a disaster with a parking lot that it rarely as much as 25% full.

I would NEVER buy a firearm from Gander Mountain. Their prices on firearms are ridiculous.

Firearm prices are through the roof I am in Winchester once a week for work and stop by once and while. Ammo is hit or miss on price but fishing gear is good. Camping gear is meh. But all in all with Dicks next door and Wally world across the street competition is good.

It's kind of funny, the GM in Stephens City has a sign up announcing a 2 box limit on bulk 22lr. I haven't seen any bulk 22lr on the shelf in nearly a year. That said, they have some fair prices for bulk 45, 9, 38, 223 and 308. Better prices than the local gun shops. Their fishing gear (rods and reels) is grossly overpriced, and I won't even look at a firearm.
